• A full programme of activities such as inflatables, music, monologues, interactive robots, a giant scalextric, LED light races and virtual reality simulators will bring technology to the public in a playful way.

On Saturday 25th May, Arrasate will become one big IKERLAN family. The technology centre, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, has organised a big popular festival to share this anniversary with the town. Under the title 'Magaletik herrira', IKERLAN proposes an open event, which in addition to bringing technology closer to the citizens in a playful way, includes music, magic, and a vertical dance show to round off the day.

Plaza Biteri, Sebero Altube and the municipal fronton of Zaldibar will be the main locations for the activities that will start at 11:00h and where around 50 people from the IKERLAN team will be working as volunteers to ensure that everything goes perfectly.

From the Patitas police robot to the giant scalextric

From 11:00 a.m. onwards, Plaza Biteri will host activities throughout the day, such as musical entertainment by Joselontxos Txaranga, performances by the magician Tor and the monologuist Mikel Bermejo, inflatables and badge and laser printer workshops, prize draws for vouchers to spend in the establishments associated with Ibai-Arte and even a party finale by DJ Xaibor. This square will also be the meeting point to have a break, as there will be a txosna with food and drink provided by Harakno street food, an initiative of students on the LEINN degree course at Mondragon Unibertsitatea.  But the stars of this space will undoubtedly be Patitas, a police robot dog  and Pepper  an android with whom the public will even have the chance to chat.

The other techie spot on the festive programme will be in Plaza Sebero Altube. Here, you will be able to enjoy robots, race cars on a large scalextric track and enjoy a kayak trip or a helicopter flight thanks to virtual reality simulators. There will also be an amazing LED light race.

The day will end with a performance by Harrobi taldea, who will fuse vertical dance with contemporary creation and Basque identity.  It will take place at the Zaldibar frontón court, from 10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
