IKERLAN announced today that it has joined the NVIDIA Partner Network (NPN), which gives it early access to the NVIDIA® Jetson™ edge AI and robotics platform.
Through this collaboration, IKERLAN, a pioneering centre in the Basque Country and in Spain in the field of embedded electronics and artificial intelligence, continues to expand the knowledge and technological capacity of its teams to offer the industrial sector the most advanced technologies in artificial intelligence, thus developing pioneering solutions adapted to the needs of companies. The Basque technology centre offers HW/SW embedded development services that meet functional safety requirements and specialises in reliable embedded solutions in applications with critical and real-time demands for industry.
NVIDIA Jetson is the leading AI-at-the-edge computing platform with over one million developers. With pre-trained AI models, developer SDKs and support for cloud-native technologies across the full Jetson lineup, manufacturers of intelligent machines and AI developers can build and deploy high-quality, software-defined features on embedded and edge devices targeting robotics, AIoT, smart cities, healthcare, industrial applications, and more.
The world-leading NVIDIA Jetson platform provides the tools to perform AI inference and to develop and deploy robots, drones, and other autonomous machines with critical AI-powered functions that think for themselves. The Basque centre will use this platform to continue to provide pioneering solutions to the industry in its environment to boost its competitiveness.
Early access to the NVIDIA Jetson platform will allow IKERLAN to get a head start on its development of industry-ready prototypes. NVIDIA Jetson provides the computational capacity, performance and energy efficiency required by customers in fields as diverse as robotics, transportation, monitoring and various autonomous systems.
Sensia Solutions one of the IKERLAN customers, has already benefited from the collaboration with NVIDIA as the advanced data provided to IKERLAN allows it to research and experiment with the Jetson platform, required by SENSIA. The Madrid-based technology company, a leader in the field of intelligent infrared imaging through embedded processing, is developing the first certified safe version on the market aimed at protection against fire and gas leaks through early detection. This represents a very ambitious disruption in the field of safety technology, initiating a process of technological transition towards intelligent image sensors, providing a much higher degree of protection than today's point sensors.
