IK4-IKERLAN has developed a catalogue of 11 pilot products based on sensors and smart systems for the industrial, foodstuff and healthcare sectors. They are technological solutions with increasing levels of complexity, ranging from the sensing system of a variable to the processing and sending of data to conduct monitoring tasks.
The four main categories into which the catalogue presented by the R&D centre has been divided are networks of smart sensors, heaters, flow detectors and regulators, and electrofluidic probes.
Among the possible industrial applications feature the remote monitoring of components, machinery and processes, the optimising of consumption and M2M communication. The possible benefits for the enterprises are numerous: they include the early detecting of faults, increases in productivity, greater flexibility of production lines and savings in energy consumption.
Between 2015 and 2016, IK4-IKERLAN will be customising four of these pilot products for a selection of interested SMEs without any additional cost for the SMEs themselves. Nevertheless, all the pilot products in the catalogue will be available without being customised for any SME that is keen to evaluate them. The technologies built into these pilot products have been developed at IK4-IKERLAN and are fully operational.
IK4-IKERLAN has presented this catalogue of products within the framework of the European Gateone project devoted to putting small- and medium-sized enterprises in contact with R&D centres so that together they can develop pilot products based on built-in smart systems.
This project, which has been launched recently, has a budget of 5.3 million euros and anticipates developing 50 innovative products over the next three years.
