Methodology For The Techno-Economic Assessment of Second Life Lithium-Ion Batteries

Abstract 

The PhD aims at evaluating how electric vehicle batteries perform when being reused on stationary applications in a post-vehicle use-phase. The ultimate goal of the thesis is analysing for which applications second life batteries are more suitable, depending on the techno-economic evaluation of both battery capabilities and application requirements. Further from battery performance assessment, the PhD project comprises additional tasks related to application analysis, battery sizing and modeling or energy management strategies definition.
