IK4-IKERLAN is one of the companies that participated in the world's largest industrial fair, the Hannover Messe, which took place in Germany between 24 and 28 April. This event brought together 190,000 visitors, including leading professionals and companies in the sector. On show had been the latest developments and projects which have been developed in the field of Industry 4.0.
The technology centre from Arrasate-Mondragon used the influential international forum to showcase its knowledge in cyber security and big data; two key elements within the Industry 4.0 model. Josu Bilbao, Head of the Cybersecure and Internet of Things team and Ángel Conde, researcher at the Big Data Architectures team at IK4-IKERLAN took part as speakers in two conferences which, according to them, "will serve to reinforce our centre's position as a key technological player in Euskadi and help us to build relations with companies and agents at an international level".
In the first speech, Ángel Conde explained the importance of big data technologies. Conde highlighted the importance of the correct management of data generated by the interconnection of machines and its application in innovative models of predictive maintenance.
In the second talk, Josu Bilbao addressed the prevention of cyber attacks. This is a growing threat which jeopardises the high-value data which flows through the network of digital connections. He also explained the techniques and tools for dealing with this complex issue.
IK4-IKERLAN participated in this event as part of an initiative led by the Basque Government, with the aim of demonstrating what Basque industry has to offer in the field of Industry 4.0. Together with the centre from Arrasate-Mondragon, another 26 companies and entities also be participated.
