The strategy of the Energigune’12 project is to advance research in two fields: marine energy and the storage of electrochemical and thermal energy. In this latter field, the project focuses on developing cutting-edge knowledge in the field of metal-air batteries, supercapacitors and charge degradation and modelling.

our contribution

  • At IK4-Ikerlan, we have taken part in the sub-line of research dedicated to charge degradation and modelling. The main aims are to research the benefits of lithium-ion batteries in terms of duration and service life, and to investigate and determine their level of charge and health.
  • Along this line, we have developed a degradation model for LFP/graphite technology, algorithms for estimating the level of charge and health for this technology.
  • Similarly, we have collaborated with CIC EnergiGUNE, in order to determine the mechanisms of degradation.
