Industrial workshop on monitoring and control of energy efficient smart structures

Dates and time
25th April 2018
Organized by
IK4-IKERLAN
25/04/2018
IK4-IKERLAN organises this industrial workshop within the framework of the FP7-ANTARES European project, aimed at all the people who are part of the industrial field interested in knowing the latest advances in control, energy harvesting, intelligent transducers and condition monitoring applied to smart systems. In this context, the workshop will bring the developed work and the ANTARES project researchers closer to the industry.
The ANTARES project links research centres (IK4-IKERLAN, Fraunhofer, TNO), universities (KU Leuven, Udine, ISVR, Twente, Hannover) and private sector companies (Siemens, Electrolux) to improve energy efficiency and the security of the new intelligent mechatronic systems. In this context, new methods have been proposed to extract and reuse the vibrations of the system, developing for this purpose:
- Innovative transducers for control and energy harvesting
- Innovative self-sufficient active control systems that reduce vibrations and acoustic emissions, allowing the use of much lighter structures.
- Methods for monitoring the condition of the system that allow the evaluation of the structural integrity of the system, ensuring its safety and reducing maintenance costs.
The combination of these techniques opens the door to the development of safer, more efficient, less noisy and more reliable systems that can ensure the competitiveness of European industry.
