SEMINAR "THE BIG CHALLENGES OF POWER ELECTRONICS"
The seminar run by IK4-IKERLAN was warmly welcomed by companies and institutions
- The workshop was held on Monday 13 July at IDEO Innovation City in the Science and Technology Park of Gipuzkoa participating in the seminar were Prof Dr Johann Walter Kolar, a European reference in Power Electronics, and Haizea Gaztañaga, Head of IK4-IKERLAN’s Line of Research into Electrical and Power Electronics Systems.
The seminar drew a large number of representatives of companies and institutions who in one way or another have been developing an interest in the innovating potential of this technology in fields such as energy, transport and mobility, capital goods, etc., as well as in the changes being spotted on the horizon as a result of the accelerating technological evolution in power semiconductor technology. It was attended by 22 people from 11 companies, 21 people from the academic and R&D sphere, and 3 from government clusters and organisations. Among the companies attending there were some that are recognised as leaders in their respective sectors, such as CAF, ORONA, AIRBUS, ORMAZABAL, INGETEAM, ARTECHE and INDRA.
As a result of the seminar, channels were opened up to explore and collaborate with various companies in which Power Electronics Systems are a strategic element for their products / processes / services and, at the end of the day, for the added value and competitiveness of their companies on highly demanding markets.
